The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills:
A bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct the Gov-
enor to convey a portion of the State Hay Scales Lot, in the
City of Balto., to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Court of Appeals
to hear the appeal of the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, and James M. Anderson, Collector, against the Grand
Lodge of Maryland, of the Independent Order of Odd-Fel-
lows, in relation to the opening of Lexington street, at the
present term of said Court.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.
Mr. Culbreth presented the petition of L. J. Lannan and
Ch as. W. Gibson and 85 others, asking the repeal of Sec-
tions 82, 83, 84 and 85, Article 6, Public Local Lawn for
Caroline county, sub-title "Fences," and to enact instead a
law to prevent stock from being at large in said county in
the first election or Henderson district.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Culbreth, Golds-
borough and Neal.
Mr. Browning presented a petition praying that the will
of Thomas Grimes, latp of Garrett county, deceased, be
legalized.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Scott presented the petition of David Stute, D. W. P.
Dretrich, John Miller, F. K. Trigler, Geo. W. Pole, Alex.
Neill, directors and stockholders of the Hagerstown and
Leitersburg Turnpike Company for an Act repealing certain
provisions of their charter.
Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.
