350 JOUIRNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 10
Mr, Hawkins, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
iavorably, a bill entitled an Act to encourage the killing of
Hawks, big Owls, Foxes and Weasels, in the counties of
Charles and Calvert.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Lankford, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably, a bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 50, 51 and
52, of Article 19, of the Code of Public Local Laws relating
to "Somerset county," sub-title, "Fences," and to enact other
sections in lieu thereof, and to add new Sections thereto, to be
Sections 53, 54, 55 and 56.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Donaldson, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to prevent the catching, killing or
destroying in manner, terrapins or terrapin eggs in any por-
tion of the State of Maryland, or the waters thereof, from
the 1st day of May to the 15th day of August in any
year.
Which was read a first time.
The House then proceeded to the consideration of bills en-
titled to a second reading.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend"
ment Section 25, of Article 4, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "City of Baltimore."
Being upon a second reading,
Mr, Hinks submitted the following amendment:
"Strike out the enacting clause."
Pending the consideration whereof,
Mr. Naill moved that the further consideration thereof be
postponed, and said bill with pending amendment made the
order of the day for Wednesday next, 16th instant.
The question recurring upon concurring in the motion,
Mr. Naill,demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained,
The yeas and nays were called, and appeared as follows:
