The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Consumers'
Mutual Gas Light Company, of Baltimore city,
Being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Whitelock,
The vote by which the amendment submitted by Mr. Don
aldson, on the 1st instant, was adopted,
Was reconsidered.
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment,
It was rejected.
Mr. Whitelock submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend by inserting after the word "currency," and be-
fore the word "and," in line 2, of Section 14, page 10, of
House bill, (printed file,) No. 6, the words following, viz:
"and the corporation hereby created shall not consolidate or
amalgamate with any other formed for the same purpose.
Nor shall the President, Directors, or any officer of any other
company formed for the same purpose, hold any position in
this company, nor shall any officer of this company hold any
office in any other company which has been or may be formed
for a similar purpose."
Which was adopted.
