The Secretary of the Senate deliverd the following
message:
By THE SENATE,
January 6th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable
Body, the appointment of a Committee of two on the part
of the Senate, and three on the part of the House, to wait
on his Excellency, John Lee Carroll, the Governor elect,
and inform him of his election, and request his attendance
on Wednesday next, at 12 o'clock, M., in the Senate Cham-
ber, to qualify according to the Constitution and form of gov-
ernment of this State.
We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs.
Lloyd and Walsh

Mr Hoblitzell submitted the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 10th, 1876.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received your message proposing to appoint a
Joint Committee, to consist of two on the part of the Senate
and three on the part of the House, to wait on his Excel-
lency, John Lee Carroll, the Governor elect, and to notify
him of his election, and request his attendance in the Senate
Chamber, on Wednesday next, at 12 o'clock, noon, to qualify
according to the Constitution; and respectfully concur there-
in, we have appointed on the part of the House Messrs
Hoblitzell, Neal and Lancaster.

Gentlemen of the Senate :
The House of Delegates acknowledges the receipt of the
