that Section 67, of Article 30, Code Public General Laws,
be amended, so as to punish persons hunting with dog or
gun upon lands of others with fine, and in case of failure to
pay, fine and cost, with imprisonment in county jails.

diciary.
Mr. Stewart presented the petition of Andrew Orr, J. W.
Reynolds, W. W. Davis and 108 other citizens of Maryland,
asking that the law regulating the penitentiary, be so
amended as to prevent convict labor from injuring the labor
of freemen.
Which was read and referred to Committee on Ways and
Means.
Mr. Robinson presented the petition of Basil Benson,
Nathaniel Pumphrey, Wm. H. Shipley. C. Bohn Slingluff,
Oregon Benson and other citizens of Anne Arundel and Bal-
timore counties, asking for a free bridge at or near the site of
Sweetzer Bridge.
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore and Anne
Arundel County Delegations.
Mr. Mattingly presented the petition of Col. John F
Dent, A. Burch, R. P. Blackistone and others for a division
of the 4th election district, of St. Mary's county.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Mattingly, Dun-
bar and Neal.
The following bills, having passed both Branches of the
General Assembly, were this day presented to His Excellency
the Governor, for his approval:
No. 5, an Act to repeal Chapter 17 of the Acts of 1874,
entitled an Act to repeal sections 323 and 324, of the Public
Local Laws of Frederick county, and to re-enact the same
amendments.
No. 6, an Act to authorize the Commissioners of Cris-
field, to permit the extension of marine railways into the
harbor of Crisfield.
