On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
said bill together with pending amendment, made the order
of the day for Wednesday, February 2nd, at 1 o'clock, P. M.
The bill entitled an Act to extend the Charter of the Grand
Division of the State of Maryland of the Order of Sons of
Temperance, passed December Session, 1845, chapter 159
being upon a second reading ;
Mr. Donaldson submited the following amendment:
Amend by adding Section 2. And be it enacted that the
General Assembly hereby reserves to itself the power to amend
or repeal this charter or any part of the same.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stewart submitted the following amendment;
Section 3. And be it enacted that this bill shall take effect
from and after the date of its passage.
Which was adopted.
The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Consumers Mu-
tual Gas Light Company of Baltimore City,
Being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Stewart,
The further con sideration thereof was postponed, and said
bill made the special order of the day for February 1st.
The bill entitled an Act authorizing the Mayor and City
Council of Cumberland to issue bonds to raise money to com-
plete and furnish the City Hall and Market in the City of
Cumberland,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act of January Ses-
sion, 1867, chapter 237, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Beneficial Savings Fund Society of Baltimore, by changing
its name,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to regulate the liquor traffic and
prevent intemperance in Calvert county,
Was read a second time fcnd ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
The bill entitled a supplement to the Acts incorporating
the Western Maryland Railroad Company, and conferring
new powers on said Company,
