The Speaker, as Chairman on the joint meeting, then an-
nounced that the Senate and House would now, in joint
meeting, proceed to the election of one Police Commissioner
for the City of Baltimore, as agreed upon between the two
Houses, and in accordance with the provisions of the Act of
Assembly of January Session, 1874
The Secretary of the Senate then proceeded to call the
roll of the Senate, when the following Senators answered to
their names:

The Chairman appointed Mr. Steiner on the part of the
Senate, and Mr. Lewis on the part of the House, to act as
