On motion of Mr. Browning,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Browning, Barnard And
Brooke, to introduce a bill providing for the division of Dis-
trict Number Eight, in Garrett county.
On motion of Mr. Hodges,
Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel delegation, to in-
troduce a bill to repeal Section 111, of Article 2, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel county, titled "Anne
Arundel County," sub-titled "Justices of the Peace and Con-
stables," and to amend and re-enact the same.
On motion of Mr Donaldson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
bring in a bill entitled an Act to amend Section 51, of Article
3, of the Constitution of the State of Maryland.
Mr. Harig, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, reported
unfavorably upon the petition of Wm. Burns, a citizen of
the 4th Election District of Baltimore county, asking an ap-
propriation from the General Assembly of Maryland, and
asked that the committee be discharged from the further con-
sideration thereof.
The report was adopted, and committee discharged
Mr. Harig, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the claims of John Murphy & Co., W. L. Pfeiffer, John
Himelheber, James E. Tate and McDo well & Co., Samuel
Stewart, J. W. Kalmey and Kelly, Piet & Company.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Brooke, Chairman on part of the House of Joint Com-
mittee on Public Buildings, submitted the following
REPORT.
The Joint Committee on Public Buildings, respectfully re-
port, that in obedience to Senate order, adopted January 19,
1876, they visited the Governor's Mansion, recommend that
the sum of three thousand dollars be appropriated for repairs
to furniture, and procuring articles necessary for the uses of
the Executive Mansion.
