Mr. Griffith presented the memorial of Lewis F. Detrick
and others, .asking for compensates for Tobacco destroyed
by fire in State Tobacco Warehouses, Nos 1 and 2.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Whitelock presented the petition of Mary B. Waten,
asking to have her name entered on the pension list.
Which was read and referred to the Committed on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Barnard presented the petition of A. M. Ambrose and
52 other citizens in favor of the repeal of Attachment Laws.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary,
Also,
The petition of A. Mullan, and 38 other citizens of Garrett
county, for the repeal of an Act to regulate the sale of liquors
in Garrett county.
Which was read and referred to the Garrett and Cecil
delegations.
On motion of Mr. Mattingly,
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that Mr.
Dunbar is absent from his seat, on account of urgent busi-
ness.
On motion of Mr. Koons,
Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate, be and lie is
hereby directed, to furnish to this House a detailed state-
ment of the amount of any sum or sums of money received
by him from the Treasury, by and under the provisions of
the Act of 1865, chap. 130, amended by the Act of 1866,
chap. 102, and whether the duties prescribed by those Acts
have been performed by him, and the several officers of the
Courts designated as persons to make the necessary records
and return the same, have complied with the requirements
of the said Acts of Assembly. «.
On motion of Mr. Riggs, -it was
Ordered, That Mr. Dodson have leave of absence for four
days, on important business.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Goldsborough, Culbreth and
Hinks, to introduce a bill to regulate the Trial fees of the
State's Attorney, for Caroline county.
On motion of Mr. Hawkins,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Hawkins, Lancastor and
Hanoe, to introduce a bill authorizing' the Register of Wills
