claim against the State of Maryland, for services rendered as
Clerk of the Circuit Court for St. Mary's county.
On motion of Mr. Scott,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation,
to introduce a bill to repeal Section 5, of chapter 333, of the
Act of 1846, entitled an Act to incorporate a Company to
make a turnpike road from Hagerstown, in Washington
county, to the Pennsylvania line, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Chaisty,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill to repeal an Act, entitled an Act to prevent
incompetent persons irom conducting business as Pharma-
cists, or vending at retail, drugs, medicines or chemicals for
medicinal use, in the City of Baltimore, and re-enact the
same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Gill,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means,
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections four
hundred and fifty-nine, and four hundred and sixty-four of
Article four, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"City of Baltimore," sub title "Live Stock," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
Mr. McGlone, from the Committee on the Judiciary report-
ed favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to add an additional Section to Art.
37, of the Code of Public General Laws, titled "Evidence,"
to be know n as section 6, B,
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Loane, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled an Act to
incorporate the Safe Deposit Company of Baltimore, chap-
242, of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1864, and the
Acts amendatory thereof, being chap. 82, of 1867, and
chap. 394, of 1868, and to change the name of said Corpor-
ation to the Safe Deposit and Trust Company of Baltimore.
Which was read a first time.
Mr, Gill, acting Chairman of the Committee on Rules,
submitted the following
REPORT.
The Committee do recommend that the use of the Hall of
the House of Delegates, be granted to the Grand Division of
