The petition oi J. B. Emory and other citizens of Queen
Ann'« county.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
ob Inspections.
Mr. Chaisty presented the memorial of the Board of
Trustees, Maryland College of Parmacy, asking the passage
of a bill to prevent incompetent persons from conducting the
business of a pharmacist, or vending at retail, drugs, medi-
cines or chemicals for medicinal use, in the City of Baltimore.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
Mr. Boyer presented the petition of Samuel Johnson, sol-
dier of the war of 1812, praying for a pension.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions
Mr. Robinson presented the petition of George Thomas and
other citizens, in regard to the inspection of tobacco.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.
The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills,
severally endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays :"
A bill entitled an Act for the Incorporation of the Grand
Lodge of the United States, of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows.
Also,
A bill entitle an Act, granting the sanction of the Gener-
al Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest in the last will and
testament of Margaret E. Morton, late of Calvert county,
deceased, to the Vestry of St. Paul's Church.
Also, delivered,
Joint Resolutions in relation to the subscription by the
Treasurer of the State to the Southern Maryland Railroad
Company.
Which were read a first time, and referred to Messrs. Dun-
bar, Lancaster and H ance.
Mr. Donaldson submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the Committee appointed under the order
of the 26th inst., offered by Mr. Hinks, as amended by the
order of Mr. Robinson, do begin said inquiry with the last
Session of the General Assembly, viz., that of 1874 thence
preceding to the last Session before, and so on, and that said
