The Speaker laid before the House a communication from
R. S. Stewart, M. D., President, together with the 44th re-
port of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane,
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on
Ways and Means.

ence to the Louisiana question from Hon. Augustus Gassa-
way, Secretary of the Senate, in response to an order of the
Houses
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Federal Relations.
Also,
The report of Hon. John A. Lynch, of Frederick county,
Judge of the Circuit Court, upon the expences, costs and
charges of the Circuit Court for said county.
