Being upon a third reading,
On motion of Mr. Fenton,
The vote by which the following amendment, viz:
Section 1, line 9, after the word "four'" insert "the in-
spection of said oils for illuminating shall by made at the
places where the oil is offered for sale to the consumer,
Was adopted,
Was reconsidered,
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment,
It was rejected.
Mr. Berkemeier submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Add to the end of Section 1: "That the said Inspectors
when appointed, and the Governor of the State be, and they
are hereby, constituted a Board of Direction, upon the in-
spection of illuminating oils and fluids, and are hereby au-
thorized and directed to make and establish all rules and
regulations for the proper inspection of oils and fluids used
for illuminating purposes in this State, but, who shall, in
framing said rules and regulations, conform to the provisions,
of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1874,
chapter 504, entitled an Act to regulate the manufacture and
sale of oil for illuminating purposes, so far as the same may
be app;icable."
Which was adopted.
The bill as amended was then read a third time, and pass-
