The House proceeded to the consideration of
The order submitted on yesterday, in relation to Conrad
Prinz, Doorkeeper, and G. E. Scott, Page.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the order.
Mr. Turner demanded a division of the question,
The question then recurring upon concurring in the motion.
On motion of Mr. Rutledge,
The order was laid on the table.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 1 and 2, of sub-
chapter 2, Section 6, of sub-chapter 3, Sections 1 and 5, of
sub-chapter 4, and Section 2, of sub-chapter 10, of chapter
377, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
at the January Session, 1870, entitled an Act to repeal an
Act passed at the January Session, 1868, entitled "Public
Education," providing a general system of Free Public
Schools for the State of Maryland, and to repeal all laws in-
consistant therewith, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, as amended by chapter 463, of the Acts passed at the
January Session, 1874, and to substitute other Sections in
lieu of those repealed, and to add new Sections to-sub-chapter
4, of said first named Act, to be numbered 10 and 11,
Which was rejected for want of a Constitutional majority,
and reconsidered,
Was passed by yeas and nays as follows:
