Which were read a first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on the part of the House, on the Joint Committee on
Article 3, Section 24, of the Constitution.
Mr. Gill presented a Resolution of the Supreme Bench of
Baltimore City, concerning the expenses of their several
Courts.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the part
of the House, on the Joint Committee on Section 24, Article 3,
of the Constitution.

Mr. Lankford presented the petition of citizens of Somer-
set county, for the the better regulation of fences in said
county,
Which was read and referred to the Somerset delegation.
Mr. Bird presented the petition of Eugene Levering, Edgar
Miller, Jas. Carrey Thomas, John B. Seidenstricker and
three hundred and forty-five other citizens of Baltimore City
and vicinity, praying the Legislature to pass a Local Option
Liquor. Law for the State.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Gwynn presented the petition of T. J. Hunt and
twenty-seven others, asking that a Local Option Bill be
passed in reference to the sale of liquors.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Hooper presented the petition of Geo. T. Whitney and
others, asking for a law to prohibit the sale of liquor near
Druid Hill Park.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Hinks presented the petition of E. A. C. Fox, Chas.
E. Trail, M. G. Urner, Frances Markell, Geo. F. Webster,
Fairfax Schley, and one hundred and twenty-eight other citi-
zens of Frederick City, in Frederick county, Maryland, ask-
ing that the Act passed by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, at January Session, 1872, chapter 348, be amended so
as to reduce the number of wards in said city, from ten to
seven, as they existed prior to the passage of said Act of
1872, for reasons herein set forth.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation,
Mr. Ward presented the memorial of William Fears and
one hundred and fifty other citizens of Cecil county pray ing the
