against the incorporation of the Maryland Live Stock Com-
pany.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
Mr. Whitelock submitted the following order :
WHEREAS, There was a balance in the Treasury of the
State of Maryland on the 1st February, 1876, of $432,467.05,
and on the 1st March, 1876, of $494,738.08;
And whereas, At the first named date there was a balance
of $230,077.89 undeposited in bank, and on 1st March a bal-
ance of $195,961.80 so undeposited;
And Whereas, The Constitution of this State requires the
money of the State to be deposited by the Treasurer as soon as
received,
Ordered, That the Treasurer report forthwith the place
where the before named sums of $230,077.89 and $l95,961.80
were deposited at these respective dates, with the security
given, satisfactory to the Governor for its safe keeping and
forthcoming when required.
Which was read.
Mr. Gill submitted the following amendment :
Strike out the "preamble" and strike out word "undepo-
iited," and insert words, "not returned as deposited in bank."
Which was read.
The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
Mr. Hoblitzell demanded the previous question,
The question then being,
"Shall the main question be now put?"
It was sustained,
The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment,
Mr. Donaldson demanded the yeas and nays,
The demand being sustained,
