FRIDAY, March 24, 1876.
The House met and was opened with prayer, by the Rev.
Father Schwarz.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. Smith, (Speaker,) Mattingly, Boyer, Usilton,
Hodges, Robinson, Rullman, Turner, Bird, Lancaster^
Hooper, Baldwin, Whitelock, Curtis, Smith, of Balto, co.,
Given, Fitzjarrell, Dodson, Lankford, Gunby, Ford, Lamb-
din, Smith of Dorchester, Waters of Dorchester, Briscoe,
Constable, Ward, Snowden, Gwynn, Cockey, Neal, Purnell,
Onley, Riggs, Hinks, Naill, Linthicum, Koons, Rutledge,
Boyle, Vandiver, Culbreth, Goldsborough, Rusk, McWil-
Hams, Hoblitzell, McGlone, Stewart, McAleese, Gill,
Loane, Chaisty, Harig, Albaugh, Sanders, Fenton, Scott,
Farrow, Ranger, Jones, Canby, Griffith, Rawlings, Atkin-
son, Sprigg, Brooke, Brown, Rinehart, Lamotte, Waters, of
Car'l, Donaltlson, Dashiell, Gordy, Barnard, Browning—73.
Mr. Chaisty presented the petition of James B. Sauner, a
citizen of Baltimore, praying the passage of an Act directing
the Comptroller to draw his warrant in favor of petitioner on
the Treasurer for the payment of n oney due said petitioner.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Loane presented the petition of D. F. Buzby & Co.,
and others, regarding the removal of the stock-yards.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
Mr. Stewart presented the petition of R. B. Colorman and
other citizens of Baltimore, for the removal of live stock
scales.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough, it was
Ordered, That leave be granted Mr. Low, an officer of thigh
House, for a few days, he being disabled from work by rea-
son of a very sore hand.
On motion of Mr. Waters, of Dorc'iester, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Lambdin have a leave of absence for a
few days to visit his family.
Mr. Neal submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be authorized to pay such expenses growing out of the elec-
