Mr Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act regulating the working
and proper ventilation of coal mines in Allegany and Garrett
counties, and providing for the appointment of an inspector for
said mines, with proposed amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Sec. 6, line 6, after the word "Company," insert "lessee."
Sec. 7, line 1, after the word "owner," insert "lessee."
Sec. 8, line 5, after the word "owner," insert "lessee."
Sec. 8, line 16, after the word "owner," insert "lessee."
Sec. 9, line 1, after the word "owner," insert "lessee."
Sec. 9, line 13, after the word "owner," Insert "lessee."
Sec. 10, line 11, after the word "owner," insert "lessee."
Sec. 11, line 5, strike out the word "shall,"and insert the
word "may," in line 7, of Section 11, strike out the word
"shall," and insert "may."
Sec. 11, line 9, after the word "dollars," insert "in the
discretion of the Court."
The proposed amendments were severally read and adopted,
and the bill, as amended, read a second time.
Mr. Fenton moved that said bill be read a third time this
day under the provisions of the Constitution, Sec. 27, Art. 3.
