The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Amos.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:

The Education bill with amendments thereto, adopted by
the House, was ordered to be printed.
Mr. Fitzjarrell presented the petition of Win. E. Whitbey
and others, citizens of Talbot county, praying a repeal of the
Local Option Law.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Fitzjarrell, Dob-
son and Culbreth.
Also,
The petition of Wm. J. Shannahan und other citizens of
Talbot county, praying the repeal of the Local Option Law.
Which was read and referred to Messrs. Fitzjarrell, Dod-
son and Culbreth.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :
A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of January Ses-
sion, 1853, ch. 88, entitled an Act to incorporate the Fitts-
burg and Connellsville Railroad in the State of Maryland,
Was read a first time and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.
Also,
A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend"
ments, Sec. 46 of Article 14, of the Public Local Laws,
paseed ai the January Session, 1868, title "Kent County,"
sub-ttle ''Cheetertown,"
