Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Licenses", be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
700. For licenses issued to hawkers and peddlers in Prince
George's County, the fee shall be Fifty Dollars ($50. 00).
701. Eo person, firm or corporation, by its officers, agents
or employees, shall sell, barter or trade or offer or expose for
sale, barter or trade in or upon any street or highway of
Prince George's County, or go from house to house, either on
foot, or with a horse or other beast of burden, or with a wagon,
or motor vehicle, or any other conveyance whatsoever, upon
the streets or highways of Prince George's County selling, bar-
tering or trading or offering to sell, barter or trade, or shall
sell, barter or trade or offer to sell, barter or trade at or from
any roadside stand or roadside market upon any street or
highway of Prince George's County, any produce, products or
merchandise whatsoever, except of his, her or its own produc-
tion or manufacture, without having previously obtained a
license from the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Prince George's
County for such purpose as provided in Section 700 of this
Article, which said license shall particularly describe the
licensee thereof and the purpose for which it was issued and
which shall expire one year from the date of issuance.
Whenever any license shall have been issued for the use by
the licensee of any vehicle, whether horse-drawn, motor-driven
or otherwise propelled, such licensee shall display on such
vehicle two metal plates, to be issued by the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court as aforesaid with such license, which plates shall
show thereon a number corresponding to the number of the
license issued to such licensee and the following inscription:
"Prince George's County Huckster License".
The holder of any license for any roadside stand or road-
side market licensed under this section shall display the license
issued therefor in a prominent place within said stand or mar-
ket, where it will be clearly visible to customers of said
licensee; provided, however, that this Section shall not apply
to sellers of bread, cakes or crackers; and provided further,
that nothing in this section shall apply to hawkers or peddlers
of oysters and fish in their unpreserved and natural condition,
and fresh meat perishable in their nature that are sold in their
natural condition in this State.
Any person who shall violate the provisions of this section
or of any part thereof shall upon conviction be subject to a
fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5. 00) and not more than
One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) or be sentenced to the County
