the refund of local taxes, and out of any State funds in his
hands, for the refund of State taxes.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1st, 1937.

CHAPTER 470.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 395
of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "State's
Attorney", as said Section was amended by Chapter 24 of
the Acts of 1936, Special Session, providing additional com-
pensation for State's Attorney for attending People's Court
of Wicomico County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 395 of Article 23 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1980 Edition), title "Wicomico
County, sub-title "State's Attorney", as said Section was
amended by Chapter 24 of the Acts of 1936, Special Session,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments
to read as follows:
395. The State's Attorney of said Wicomico County in lieu
of the fees heretofore received by him in any criminal or mis-
demeanor case or cases heretofore received by him, as provided
by any local law for Wicomico County, or in any general law
of the State, shall receive a salary of Fourteen Hundred Dol-
lars per annum as full compensation for his entire services
in such cases as required of him by law, or which may here-
after he required of him, the said salary to be paid to him by
the County Commissioners of Wicomico County. In addition
to the salary now received by the State's Attorney, he shall be
paid the further sum of One Thousand Dollars per year from
and after January 1, 1937, for his attendance before the
People's Court of Wicomico County, the said sum to be paid
in equal quarterly installments on January 1st, April 1st,
July 1st and October 1st in each and every year and the said
County Commissioners shall levy annually the said sum of
One Thousand Dollars for this purpose.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
