tion), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Circuit
Court", said new section to be known as Section 204A, to
follow immediately after Section 204 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
204A. It shall be lawful to close the office of the Clerk
of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County in the Court
House at the hour of noon, midday, on Saturday of each week;
provided that any judge of the Circuit Court of said County
may order and direct at any time the said office to be kept
open, and in such event, the said Clerk or his deputies shall
remain for such time as said judge may deem necessary to
the convenience of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths (3/5)
of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly of Maryland the same shall take effect from
the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 462.
AN ACT to repeal Section 16 of the Charter of the Town of
Lonaconing relating to the tax rate of said town, re-enacting
the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 16 of the Charter of the Town of Lonacon-
ing, relating to the tax rate be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:
16. That they may from time to time cause an assessment
to be made of all the property, real and personal, in the town
by three persons appointed by them and may levy a tax there-
on for general purposes not exceeding in any one year sixty
cents on each One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) of assessable
property.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be an emer-
gency law necessary for the immediate preservation of the pub-
lic safety and being passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each branch of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the day of
its passage.
