sioner, and may be retired at any time if permanently inca-
pacitated on account of injuries received in the performance
of duty. It shall be mandatory upon the Mayor, Counselor and
Aldermen to appropriate and levy each year a sufficient sum
to pay the pensions herein provided for to all members of the
Police Department retired under the provisions of this section.
There shall be no provisions in the law under which a member
of the Police Department may apply for retirement or be
retired at a certain age limit.
21E. Any member of the paid Fire Department of the City
of Annapolis may be retired from his department after twenty
years of active service, on a retirement salary of Fifty Dollars
($50. 00) per month, if permanently incapacitated for active
duty, or, at any time, if permanently incapacitated on account
of injuries received in the performance of duty, said eligibility
for retirement in either case to be determined by the Mayor,
Counselor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis, under reg-
ulation which said municipal corporation is hereby authorized
to pass. It shall be mandatory upon the Mayor, Counselor and
Aldermen of the City of Annapolis to appropriate and levy
each year a sufficient sum to pay the pensions herein provided
for to all members of the paid Fire Department retired under
the provisions of this section. There shall be no provision in
the law under which a member of the paid Fire Department
may apply for retirement or be retired at a certain age limit.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 434.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 31
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title
"Bribery", said amendment limiting the immunity pro-
visions of said statute to witnesses called in behalf of the
State and exempting said witnesses from prosecution, as
well as from trial and punishment.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 31 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", sub-title "Bribery", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:
