be known as Section 17A, and to follow immediately after
Section 17 of said Article, to provide for expiration of alco-
holic beverage licenses in certain cases.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Classes of Licenses",
said new section to be known as Section 17A, to follow im-
mediately after Section 17 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
17A. On the tenth day after the holder of any license issued
under the provisions of this Article shall have vacated, or been
evicted from, the premises for which said license was issued,
said license shall expire, unless an application for approval
of a transfer thereof to another location or assignment to
another person pursuant to Section 22 of this Article or an
application pursuant to Section 17 of this Article has been
approved or is then pending, provided, however, that the official
authorized to issue licenses may, in his discretion, postpone
such expiration for an additional period not exceeding twenty
days in any case to avoid undue hardship.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 400.
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 2 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arun-
del County", sub-title "Annapolis", said new section to be
known as Section 60A and to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 60 of said Article, to authorize the holding of dances
and exhibition of motion pictures in the City of Annapolis
in Anne Arundel County at certain hours on Sunday, to re-
peal Sections 483 and 485 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
