continue to hold the office until the contested election is de-
cided, and until the successor or successors shall be legally
qualified.
92. If the citizens of said town at any time neglect to make
an election at the time fixed by this charter, the power of elect-
ing Commissioners shall not cease, but shall continue, and the
Commissioners for the time being shall continue in office until
the election and qualification of their successors, but in such
case said Commissioners are hereby directed to call an election
as soon as practicable after such regular election date.
93. Every Commissioner before entering upon the duties of
his office, shall take the constitutional oath of office before
the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Prince George's County or
one of his deputies. Failure to take the oath of office within
ten days after election shall constitute a vacancy in that
office.
94. The Commissioners shall have power to meet and ad-
journ from time to time and shall at their first meeting after
an election, choose from their own body a president, who shall
preside at all their meetings, vote on all questions before
them, and remain in office until superseded by the election of
a new president.
95. They may appoint a clerk, treasurer, corporation coun-
sel, health officer, building, electrical, and plumbing inspectors,
fire marshal, and such other officers, employees, and boards,
as they may deem advisable, and prescribe their duties, and
allow them such compensation as they may think proper.
96. The clerk shall enter all ordinances passed by the
Commissioners in a book to be kept by him for that purpose,
which shall at all times be open to the inspection of the public,
and a copy of all ordinances shall be posted in at least one
public place in the town, and published once in a newspaper
published in said town, if there be a newspaper so published.
97. The Commissioners may annually appoint a bailiff, who
before entering upon his duties shall take the constitutional
oath of office, and who shall also give bond in the sum of fifty
dollars for the faithful performance of his duties, the said
bond to be approved by the Commissioners. The said bailiff,
when he shall have qualified, shall have power, within said
town, to make arrests for the violation of the Public General
Laws and Public Local Laws, as well as the ordinances of the
town.
