the building of such Fire House shall have been approved by
the St. Michaels Fire Department and by The Commissioners
of St. Michaels; and (2) said Fire House Loan shall have been
approved by the voters of St. Michaels as provided in the next
succeeding section of this Act.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That the said The Com-
missioners of St. Michaels shall call and hold a special elec-
tion, at a time and place to be designated by them, for adoption
or rejection of this Act by the legally qualified voters of said
town, and notice of said election shall be given by publication
in some newspaper printed and published in Talbot County at
least three weeks before said election. The ballots for said
election shall be prepared by The Commissioners of St.
Michaels and shall have printed thereon the title of this Act
and thereunder the words "For Fire House Loan", with a
blank square opposite and to the right of said words, and im-
mediately thereunder the words "Against Fire House Loan",
with a blank square opposite and to the right of said words,
Each voter shall indicate Ms choice by marking a cross (X)
in one of said blank squares. The Commissioners of St.
Michaels shall appoint the necessary officers to conduct such
election, and shall make all other arrangements therefor. Ex-
cept as otherwise provided herein, said election shall be con-
ducted and the results thereof ascertained and certified in the
same manner as Elections for Commissioners.
That if a majority of the total number of those voting at
said election vote "For Fire House Loan", then this Act shall
be in full force and effect, but if less than a majority of those
voting shall cast their ballots "For Fire House Loan", then
this Act shall be null and void and of no effect, and no debt
shall be contracted, and no notes, bonds or certificates of
indebtedness shall be issued or sold hereunder.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.
