CHAPTER 58.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
232F of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935
Supplement), title "Licenses", sub-title "Intelligence Offices
and Employment Agencies", authorizing employment agents
engaged in the business of securing positions for teachers
to charge a registration fee.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 232F of Article 56 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1935 Supplement), title '"Licenses", sub-title
"Intelligence Offices and Employment Agencies", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:
232F. No employment agent doing business in the State, or
any person employed by or acting as agent for any such em-
ployment agent, shall (1) in any manner or by any means
whatsoever make any false statement or false representation
to any person seeking employment, knowing the same to be
false, in regard to any employment, work or situation, its
nature, location, or duration, the wages or salary attached
thereto or the circumstances surrounding the said employ-
ment, work or situation, or,
(2) Give to any employer or prospective employer any sum
of money or thing of value for the purpose of inducing the
employment of any applicant and for the creation of any
vacancy, or,
(3) Collect in advance from any applicant for employment
any payment for service to be rendered to such applicant in
obtaining employment except that an employment agent en-
gaged in the business of securing positions for teachers may
charge each applicant a registration fee of not more than two
($2. 00) dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

daughter of Louis Gold.
