24. The Secretary of State shall forthwith communicate the
text of this measure to the Governor, to the Senate, and to the
House of Representatives, of each of the other States of the
Union, and shall advise each legislature which has not already
done so that it is hereby memorialized to enact a law similar to
this measure, thus establishing a similar commission, and thus
joining with this State in the common cause of reducing the
burdens which are imposed upon the citizens of every State
by governmental confusion, competition and conflict.
25. If any clause or other portion of this sub-title is held
to be invalid, that decision shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of this sub-title. The Legislature hereby
declares that all such remaining portions of this sub-title are
severable, and that it would have enacted such remaining por-
tions if the invalid portions had not been included in this
sub-title.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 332.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 38 of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Sup-
plement), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits", relating to the time
within which the employer shall report an accident and pro-
viding penalties for failure to do so.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 38 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensa-
tion", sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read
as follows:
38. Notice, in writing or otherwise, of an injury for which
compensation is payable under this Article shall be given to
the employer within ten days after the accident, and also in
case of the death of the employee resulting from such injury,
within thirty days after such death. Such notice if in writing,
shall contain the name and address of the employee, and state
in ordinary language the time, place, nature and cause of the
