Police Commissioners. After said period all other officers,
except probationary officers, shall hold their positions pending
good behavior and physical and mental qualification therefor.
The Superintendent of Police and all other officers shall be
subject to removal for cause after hearing at any time by the
Police Commissioners. The Superintendent of Police may sus-
pend, with or without pay, line, or otherwise discipline any of
said Police Officers provided that such officers shall have a
right of appeal to the Police Commissioners. The Police Com-
missioners when sitting as a trial court or as a court of appeal,
as above provided, shall have power to administer oaths and
to subpoena witnesses and records material to the subject mat-
ter of the hearing.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the Police Commis-
sioners shall provide for training the probationary officers dur-
ing their probationary period and the other officers of the
force from time to time when, in their judgment, they con-
sider it advisable. Such training shall consist, as far as pos-
sible, of instruction in physical culture, self-defense, first aid,
the use and care of all necessary fire arms, criminal law pro-
cedure and the production of evidence, the theory and prac-
tice of police work, investigation of crime and the apprehen-
sion of criminals, nature and method of keeping records and
making reports and such other matters as the Police Com-
missioners shall consider necessary to train an efficient Police
Force in Prince George's County.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the Superintendent
of the Prince George's County Police shall receive a salary of
Twenty-five Hundred ($2500. 00) Dollars per annum, payable
in equal monthly installments and no other fees or compensa-
tion whatsoever except that the Police Commissioners are au-
thorized to pay the actual expense for the maintenance and up-
keep of an automobile to be used by him and the sum of Sixty
($60. 00) Dollars per annum for uniforms to be worn by said
Superintendent of Police as the Police Commissioners may pre-
scribe. The Superintendent of Police shall have full control
and supervision over the other members of the force and shall
assign the Sergeants and Police Officers and Desk Clerks to
such duties and to such hours as he may judge best. He shall
make, with the approval of the Police Commissioners, such
rules and regulations for their proper government and disci-
pline as he may deem best to promote the efficiency of said
Force, a copy of such rules and regulations to be furnished to
each member of the Force. He shall have exclusive and full
control and supervision over the lock-up in the sub-station in
the upper portion of the County and commitments by Justices
