CHAPTER 270.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 389, 390, 390A and 390B as said
sections were enacted by Chapter 117 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, 1933, title "Wicomico Coun-
ty", sub-title "Sheriff", and to add nine new sections to
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Sheriff",
to be known as Sections 389, 389A, 389B, 389C, 390, 390A,
390B, 390C and 390D and to follow immediately after Section
390 of said Article repealing all acts or parts of acts incon-
sistent with the provisions of this act and providing for
the compensation and expenses of the sheriff, his office and
his deputies and for boarding prisoners and for the disposi-
tion of fees and costs heretofore collected by him, requiring
the said sheriff and his deputies to serve all process from
the People's Court of Wicomico County and imposing upon
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County and
the Clerk of the People's Court for Wicomico County the
duty of collecting and paying over to the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County all fees and costs taxable to
the sheriff.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 389, 390, 390A and 390B, as said sections
were enacted by Chapter 117 of the Acts of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, 1933, title "Wicomico County", sub-title
"Sheriff", be and they are hereby repealed and that nine new
sections be and they are hereby added to Article 23 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wi-
comico County", sub-title "Sheriff", to follow immediately
after Section 390 of said Article to be known as Sections 389,
389A, 389B, 389C, 390, 390A, 390B, 390C and 390D all of
said sections to read as follows:
390. 1 The Sheriff of Wicomico County shall receive an annual
salary of the sum of twenty-four hundred dollars ($2, 400. 00) to
be paid to him in monthly installments of two hundred dollars
($200. 00) by the County Commissioners of Wicomico County
and he shall be allowed sums not exceeding in the aggregate
four thousand dollars ($4, 000. 00) for any one year for all ex-
penses of his office including automobile mileage allowance,
telephone and telegraph expense, clerical assistance, and nec-
essary deputies to assist in the discharge of his duties, except
the salary of a chief deputy which is hereinafter provided for,
the said account for office expenses and deputies to be paid
monthly by the County Commissioners of said Wicomico Coun-
ty tout only upon the presentation to them by the sheriff of a
