County", sub-title "Port Deposit", be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

353. All the inhabitants of said town, citizens of the United
States, above twenty-one years of age, who shall have bona
fide resided in said town for the space of six months, and
twelve months in the State next preceding the election, shall
elect by ballot on the last Monday in February in 1938 at a
place to be designated by the Corporation, by a notice to be
put up in at least five of the most public places in said town
at least twenty days before the day of election, seven judicious
and discreet persons, citizens of the United States, who shall
have resided within the limits of said town for at least twelve
months preceding the election, one of whom shall be electee1
as President and six (6) shall be elected as Commissioners j
the President and the said six (6) Commissioners shall hold
office for a period of two (2) years from the date of their
election or until their successors shall be chosen and qualified
and before taking office shall qualify by taking an oath before
a Notary Public or Justice of the Peace that they will faith-
fully and impartially discharge the duties of their respective
offices.

354. The ballots to be cast at the election to be held under
Section 353 shall be printed by the corporation of Port De-
posit and shall contain the name or names of the candidate
or candidates for president under the caption "For President"
and the names of candidates for commissioners under the
caption "For Commissioners" and no person shall be eligible
for either office of President or Commissioner unless he or
she shall first file an application with the Clerk to the Com-
missioners at least ten (10) days before the date of the
election and said application shall be supported by petition
signed by at least twenty-five (25) of the qualified voters of
said town. All ballots shall be marked with the words "Offi-
cial Ballot" and the Corporation of Port Deposit shall print
for the use of the voters a sufficient number of ballots to meet
the requirements of the same. The Corporation of Port De-
posit shall appoint judges and clerks of the election to be held
under these sections and no ballot shall be deemed or taken
as an official ballot unless it shall contain the initials of one
of the clerks of the election. At the right of the names of the
candidate for each office there shall be provided a box and in
the same the voter shall indicate his choice for a President or
Commissioners by making a cross therein; should there be a
group of candidates in any petition, for the office of President
and Commissioners which shall contain the name of only one
person for President and only six (6) candidates for Commis-
sioners then and in that event the petitioners shall be entitled
