SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Montgomery County", to be under sub-title "Coun-
ty Flag", said new section to be known as Section 240A, to
follow immediately after Section 240 of said Article, and
to read as follows:
240A. The flag hereinafter described is hereby adopted and
declared to be the official flag of Montgomery County.
This flag shall be thirty-two by forty-eight inches in size
with a background of the Maryland Yellow.
In the center of this flag shall be the coat of arms of Sir
Richard Montgomery, twenty-three inches from top. to bottom,
including crest and motto, with the width in proper propor-
tion thereto. The coat of arms of the Montgomery family
of Donnegal, Ireland, according to Burke's Peerage is as
follows:
Arms: Quarterly; First and Fourth Azure. Three Fleurs-
de-lis Or, Second and third, Gu., Three ammulets Or, gemmed
Az; all with a bordure arg., charged with eight Trefoils slipped
vert, on an escutcheon surtout Agr., a tilting spear and sword
in saltire ppr.
Crest: On a chapeau Gu., turned up Erm., a cubit arm
armed, grasping a broken tilting spear ppr.
Motto—"Gardez Bien".
Under the Coat of Arms across the bottom of the flag will
be the words (in 21/2-inch black lettering, block type) MONT-
GOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND. In the space to the left
of the coat of arms, will be the date 1776 (the formation of
the County), in black lettering of 2y2 inches; while on the
right side of the coat of arms the date of 1936. The entire
coat of arms is outlined in black border and the motto lettered
in black.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 224.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 488A to 488J, inclusive, of Article
1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Al-
legany County, " sub-title "Non-Profit Hospital Service
Plans'" as enacted by Chapter 476 of the Acts of 1935, and to
add a new sub-title and nine (9) new sections to Article 48A
