University of Maryland, and the effective administration of
the agricultural policies of this State requires the cooperation
of this State with the Government and agencies of the United
States and of other states in the accomplishment of the policies
and purposes of said Section 7 of said Act; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of Section 7 of said Act of Con-
gress contemplate legislative action by the several states and
territories desiring to cooperate therein, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That four new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 2A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition),
title "Agriculture", to be under sub-title "Soil Conservation",
said new sections to be known as Sections 15, 16, 17 and 18, to
follow immediately after Section 14 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
15. The State of Maryland hereby adopts the policy of co-
operating with the governments and agencies of other states
and of the United States in carrying out the policy and pur-
poses specified in Section 7 (a) of the Act of Congress known
as "Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act" (Public
No. 46, 74th Congress, approved by the President of the
United States April 27, 1935, as amended by Public No. 461,
74th Congress, approved February 29, 1936).
16. The University of Maryland is hereby designated and
authorized as the State agency of this State to formulate, sub-
mit to the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States and
carry out State agricultural plans pursuant to the provisions
of Section 7 of said Soil Conservation and Domestic Allot-
ment Act.
17. The University of Maryland is hereby authorized and
empowered:
(1) To formulate, pursuant to the standards therefor set
forth in Section 7 (a) of said Act of Congress, agricultural
plans for this State for each calendar year, commencing with
the year 1938, and from time to time to make such revisions
in such State agricultural plans as may be necessary to con-
form to such standards;
(2) To utilize, in formulating and revising such State agri-
cultural plans, the assistance of the Agricultural Extension
Service and the Agricultural Experiment Station;
(3) To designate in such plans the University of Mary-
land as the State agency of the State of Maryland to admin-
ister such State agricultural plans;
