mediately follow Section 530 of said first mentioned Code and
to be known as Section 530A, said new section to read as
follows:
530A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are
hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to retire
and pension any special police officer of said County, under
the same terms and conditions as members of its regular police
department are retired and pensioned, by virtue of existing or
future laws, provided, however, that in computing years of
faithful service performed, active duty in the regular police
department and active duty as a special police officer, whether
consecutive or otherwise, may be combined to successfully meet
the service requirements in point of time.
SEC. 2 And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be
effective on and after June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 137.
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "Garrett County",
sub-title "Election Districts", to be known as Section 171A,
providing for the compensation of Judges and Clerks of
Election and of Registration Officers in Garrett County, and
fixing the hours which constitute a day for election and
registration purposes and providing compensation for over
time work of Election Officers in Garrett County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
12 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, titled "Gar-
rett County", sub-title "Election Districts", said new section
to be known as Section 171A to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 171 of said Article and to read as follows:
171A. The Judges of Election, whether acting as or sitting
as officers of election, and/or Clerk in Garrett County shall be
allowed and paid Five Dollars a day, such day to be the time
from the opening of the polls and/or registration until
the closing of the same; fractions of a day shall be allowed
for pro rata, and over time on registration and election days
shall be allowed for at the rate of Forty Cents per hour but
compensation for over-time shall not be allowed for more than
five hours; and in all other respects Section 126 of Article 33
