232 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 122

CHAPTER 122.

AN ACT to add one new section to Offutt's Revised Code of
Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, Edition of 1929,
title No. 13, "County Commissioners" (Flack's Code 1930,
Article 3), said new section to follow Section 130F of said
Code as enacted by Chapter 207 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1935, and to be known as Section 130G, author-
izing a levy in said County for the years 1938 and 1939 to be
expended for relief of unemployed and destitute persons and
providing for repeal of all inconsistent laws or parts of laws
and for partial invalidity.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That one new and additional section be and it is here-
by added to Offutt's Revised Code of the Public Local Laws
of Baltimore County, Edition of 1929, title No. 13, "County
Commissioners", to follow immediately after Section 130F and
to be known and designated as Section 130G of said Code
(Article 3, Flack's Code, 1930), reading as follows:

Section 130G. The County Commissioners of Baltimore
County, when making their county levy for the years 1938 and
1939, be and they are hereby authorized, if in their discretion
it shall be necessary, to levy on all the assessable property
within Baltimore County liable to taxation, a sum not to ex-
ceed ninety thousand ($90, 000. 00) dollars, to be expended (if
needed) in the relief, maintenance and support of unemployed,
destitute and indigent persons residing within the confines of
said County.

SEC. 2. And be It further enacted, That any and all other
laws or parts of laws, whether general or local, inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That should any portion
or portions of this Act be held invalid for any reason whatso-
ever, such invalidity shall not be construed as affecting the
validity of the remainder of this Act or any part thereof, it
being the legislative intent that said remainder of the Act
shall stand in full force and effect notwithstanding any partial
invalidity.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall be
effective on and after June 1, 1937.
