such refund shall be payable from the funds and in. the man-
ner therein provided. Provided that no holder of any class
of license for the sale of beer in Ocean City in Worcester
County, or of any class of license for the sale of any alcoholic
beverages in Cecil County, shall be entitled to a refund of the
unearned portion of the fee paid for such license.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 21.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 452
of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(Chapter 16 of Acts of General Assembly, 1933), title "Har-
ford County", sub-title "Sheriff", said section providing for
the allowance made to said Sheriff for the support and
maintenance of prisoners committed to the County Jail; and
providing for the payment of surplus funds to the County
Commissioners of Harford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 452, of Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-title
"Sheriff", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments, said amended section to read as follows:

452. It shall be the duty of said Sheriff to furnish, all sup-
plies and provisions necessary, in his judgment, for the support
and maintenance of all persons committed to the jail of said
county, for which said Sheriff shall be allowed the sum of
fifty cents per day for each prisoner confined in said jail,
said sum to be levied by said Board of County Commissioners
of Harford County as hereinbefore provided and paid by said
Board to said Sheriff monthly; provided that any excess funds
remaining in the Sheriff's hands at the end of each year, over
and above the actual cost of said support and maintenance be
returned to the said County Commissioners of Harford County.

All surplus funds remaining in the Sheriff's hands at the
end of each year over and above his salary of Three thousand
dollars per year, and salaries of deputies, and other expenses
of his office as may be approved by the County Commissioners
of Harford County, and for the feeding and care of prisoners,
shall be paid over by the said Sheriff to the said County Com-
