CHAPTER 14.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
(b) of Section 15 of Article 95A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Unemployment Compensation", sub-title
"Protection of Rights and Benefits", as said Article was en-
acted by Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Extraordinary Session
of December, 1936, further regulating the payment of fees
in connection with proceedings under said Article and pro-
hibiting the solicitation of claims thereunder.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (b) of Section 15 of Article 95A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Unemployment Compen-
sation", sub-title "Protection of Rights and Benefits", as said
Article was enacted by Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Extra-
ordinary Session of December, 1936, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(b) LIMITATION OF FEES.

No individual claiming benefits shall be charged fees of any
kind in any proceeding under this Act by the Board or its
representatives or by any Court or by any officer thereof. Any
individual claiming benefits in any proceeding before an appeal
tribunal or the Board of Review may be represented by counsel
or other duly authorized agent; but no such agent, other than
an attorney-at-law, shall either charge or accept for such serv-
ices any remuneration whatever; and no such counsel shall
either charge or receive for such services more than an amount
approved by the Board. No person, firm or corpo-
ration shall solicit the business of appearing on behalf
of persons claiming benefits or shall make it a business to
solicit employment for another in connection with claims for
benefits under this Article. Any person, firm or corporation
who violates any provision of this sub-section shall, for each
such offense, be fined not more than $1, 000 or imprisoned for
not more than one year, or both.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Car-
roll County", sub-title "Westminster", said new section to be
