authorized and directed to retain out of the fines and penal-
ties imposed by the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's County
upon any person or persons convicted in said Court of crime
and paid into the hands of said Clerk, and/or out of all
forfeitures that may be collected by the judgment or decree
of said Court, a sum of money not exceeding One Hundred
Dollars ($ 100) in any one calendar year, and to expend the
same or any part thereof under the direction of the Judges
of said Court, or such Committee for that purpose as said
Court may appoint, for the augmentation of the library of
said Court and/or its equipment, the remainder of said
fines, penalties and/or forfeitures, if any, to be paid by said
Clerk to the County Treasurer as now provided by Section
233 of said Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition).

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-title "Fines", said new
section to be known as Section 233A, to follow immediately
after Section 233 of said Article 18, and to read as follows:

233A. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's
County is hereby authorized and directed to retain out of the
fines and penalties imposed by the Circuit Court for Queen
Anne's County upon any person or persons convicted in said
Court of crime and paid into the hands of said Clerk, and/or
out of all forfeitures that may be collected by the judgment
or decree of said Court, a sum of money not exceeding One
Hundred Dollars ($100) in any one calendar year, and to
expend the same or any part thereof under the direction of
the Judges of said Court, or such Committee for that purpose
as said Court may appoint, for the augmentation of the library
of said Court and/or its equipment, the remainder of said
fines, penalties and/or forfeitures, if any, to be paid by said
Clerk to the County Treasurer as now provided by Section
233 of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (Edition of 1930).

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and
they are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.
