Resolved 'by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
appreciation and gratitude of the people of Maryland be and
they are hereby extended to the Honorable Franklin Delano
Roosevelt, President of the United States, and to the Congress
of the United States, for the great benefits which they have
brought to the people of the State of Maryland during the
past four years and for the general improvement of social,
business, economic and welfare conditions; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be and
he is hereby directed to send, under the Great Seal of the
State of Maryland, a copy of this resolution to the President
of the United States, to the Speaker of the House of Repre-
sentatives and to the President of the Senate of the United
States Congress.
NO. 12.
House Joint Resolution requesting the President of the United
States to set aside and designate certain land and water-
areas in Maryland at the head of the Chesapeake Bay for
the wintering, resting and feeding of wild water fowl.
WHEREAS, the United States Biological Survey is purchas-
ing and establishing breeding, nesting and resting grounds and
waters for wild water fowl, and
WHEREAS, the United States owns and/or controls certain
water areas in Maryland located at the head of the Chesapeake
Bay, and
WHEREAS, these areas would be suitable wintering, resting
and feeding grounds for wild water fowl, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
President of the United States be and he is requested to issue
a proclamation setting aside and designating the land and
water areas in Maryland located at the head of the Chesapeake
Bay included within the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Edgewood
Arsenal and Fort Hoyle, over which the United States has
control as wintering, resting and feeding grounds and waters
for wild water fowl; and be it further
Resolved. That the Secretary of State of Maryland be and he
is hereby directed to send under the Great Seal of the State
of Maryland a copy of 1his Resolution to the President of the
United States and to the United States Biological Survey.
