per month, to be paid by the County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County, which said clerk shall perform such clerical
work in the State's Attorneys Office and such other work as
he or she may be directed by the said State's Attorney.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1937.

CHAPTER 508.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 80
and 82 of Article 89B of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 563 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland at its 1935 Session, and to
repeal Section 80 of said Article 89B as enacted by said
Chapter 563 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land at its 1935 session, to prohibit the pledge or applica-
tion of tolls charged and collected on a bridge or bridges
now erected or to be erected on the State Roads system
or on any main route or road in the State of Maryland
to the payment of the promissory notes, bonds or other evi-
dences of indebtedness to be issued by the State Roads
Commission of Maryland under the provisions of said
Chapter 563 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, enacted at its 1935 session, and to provide that the
annual tax authorized to be laid and collected pursuant
to the provisions of said Chapter 563 of said Acts of 1935
shall be applied to the payment of the principal of and
interest on refunding bonds of said Commission before
such tax is applied to said notes, bonds or other evidences
of indebtedness, and to provide that this Act shall be passed
as an emergency measure.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 80 and 82 of Article 89B of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter
563 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland at its
1935 session, be, and the same are hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
80. All promissory notes, bonds or other evidences of in-
debtedness issued by the State Roads Commission under the
provisions of this sub-title shall be exempt from assessment
and from State, County and Municipal taxes in Maryland.
