be authorized to expend such additional sum or sums as may
be necessary, not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars
($250.00), per annum, to cover stenographic and other ex-
penses.
(n) TALBOT COUNTY. In Talbot County each member of
said Board shall receive as compensation a salary of five hun-
dred dollars ($500.00) per year and, in addition thereto, the
Chairman of said Board shall receive a salary of two hundred
and fifty dollars ($250.00) per year.
(o) WASHINGTON COUNTY. In Washington County each
member of the Board shall be entitled to receive an annual
salary of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.00) payable monthly
from the license fees derived from the issuance of license fees
authorized by this Article. No member or employee of the
Board shall have any pecuniary or other interest in any phase
of the manufacture, sale or distribution of any alcoholic
beverages.
139. REMOVALS, (a) BOARDS APPOINTED BY GOVERNOR.
The Governor may remove any member of any Board of License
Commissioners appointed by him under the provisions of this
Article, for misconduct in office, incompetency or wilful neglect
of duty, giving him a copy of the charges against him and an
opportunity of being publicly heard in person, or by counsel,
in Ms own defense, upon not less than ten days' notice. If
any member shall be removed, the Governor shall file in the
office of the Secretary of State, a statement of the charges
made against such member and his findings thereon.
(b) BOARDS APPOINTED BY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. The
Board of County Commissioners may remove any member of
any Board of License Commissioners appointed by them, for
the causes in this section prescribed.
(c) SELF-CONTINUING BOARD. The Board of County
Commissioners of Allegany County may remove any member of
a self-continuing board, for the reasons prescribed hereinabove
in this section, and after having given such member a copy of
the charges against him and an opportunity to be heard there-
on. Any member of the Board aggrieved by such action of the
County Commissioners may appeal therefrom, agreeably to
the provisions of Section 152 of this Article.
140. ADMINISTRATION, (a) CAROLINE COUNTY. In
Caroline County the County Commissioners shall designate
and fix the first Tuesday in each calendar month, between the
hours of 9 o'clock A. M. and 1 o'clock P. M., when they shall
sit as the Board of License Commissioners for the hearing of
