of the qualifications and requirements as set forth in such
rules and regulations. The decision of the Board shall be
final with respect to all questions relating to whether any
agricultural fair, exhibit or activity shall be entitled to finan-
cial assistance under the provisions of this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 494.
(Senate Bill 48)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
154 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Corporations," sub-title "Companies for
the Erection of Bridges or Construction of Canals," elimi-
nating certain obsolete provisions in said sections and to
repeal Sections 155, 156, 158 and 159 of said Article, re-
lating to tolls for the use of bridges.

WHEREAS, the Public Service Commission has the power to
fix and regulate tolls for the use of bridges, ferries, etc.,
thereby superseding and rendering obsolete the provisions
of Sections 155, 156, 158 and 159 of Article 23 of the Anno-
tated Code; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 154 of Article 23 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Corporations," sub-title
"Companies for the Erection of Bridges or Construction of
Canals," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

154. When any bridge or canal shall be erected or con-
structed pursuant to consent of the County Commissioners
under Section 152 of this Article, the corporation shall report
in writing to the County Commissioners, under the oath or
affirmation of the president or vice-president; and the County
Commissioners shall appoint three persons to examine the
same and report whether it has been erected or constructed in
such a substantial and durable manner as is required to pro-
mote the public convenience, and the report shall be reviewed
and ratified, or rejected by the County Commissioners, who
