SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Salisbury", said
new section to be known as Section 280A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 280 of said Article, and to read as fol-
lows:

280A. The Mayor and Council of Salisbury are hereby
authorized to apply for and purchase on behalf of and for the
benefit of the various city employees group life insurance,
accident and sickness insurance, hospitalization insurance, in-
cluding medical and surgical benefits and/or annuity and
retirement insurance in such amounts, types and plans and
from such companies and agents as the said Mayor and City
Council shall, in their sound discretion, select. The said
Mayor and City Council of Salisbury are further authorized,
in their discretion, to pay all, any portion of, or no portion of
the cost of such insurance; the employees, if they elect to
participate in such plan, shall pay all or any amount of the
cost of such insurance that is not paid by the said Mayor and
Council of Salisbury. If the said Mayor and Council of Salis-
bury elect to pay any of the cost of said insurance, such cost
shall be included in the annual budget and levy of said town.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 475.
(House Bill 853)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Aldermen
of Frederick to borrow upon the faith and credit of said
city a sum not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Dollars
($300,000) and to issue coupon serial bonds therefor,
the proceeds to be used for constructing, extending and
improving the water system in Frederick City, and pro-
viding for the levying of taxes necessary for the payment of
such bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick, a muni-
cipal corporation, be and it is hereby authorized and em-
