CHAPTER 435.
(House Bill 676)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Balti-
more County", sub-title "Fire Department", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 246A, to follow immediately
after Section 246 of said Article, providing for a Fire
Inspection Board and Inspectors in Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and the same is hereby added to
Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Fire Depart-
ment", said new section to be known as Section 246A, to follow
immediately after Section 246 of said Article and to read as
follows:
246A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are
hereby authorized and empowered to establish a Fire Inspec-
tion Board for Baltimore County, and to make all necessary
rules and regulations with respect to fire prevention and fire
inspections in Baltimore County. The members of the Board
shall consist of such members of the Fire Department of
Baltimore County and of each volunteer fire department in
Baltimore County, as the County Commissioners shall appoint
thereto, provided that there shall not be more than one mem-
ber from any volunteer fire department. The County Com-
missioners are further authorized and empowered to appoint
such number of inspectors for said Board from the Fire De-
partment of Baltimore County and from volunteer fire depart-
ments in Baltimore County as said Commissioners may deem
advisable. The members of the Fire Inspection Board and
inspectors shall serve at the pleasure of the Commissioners,
without pay as to members of volunteer fire departments and
without any extra pay or compensation for such work as to
members of the Fire Department of Baltimore County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.
