Commissioners of Somerset County; the said Chief Deputy
in addition to performing the general duties assigned to him
by the Sheriff, shall also serve as a special investigator in
all criminal matters in said county. In addition to such
other sums as may be allowed the Sheriff for the expenses
of his office, the County Commissioners shall allow the Sheriff
the sum of one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175.00) per
month to employ as special deputy or deputies.

SEC. 2. And 'be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 427.
(House Bill 658)

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of St. Michaels to
borrow upon the faith and credit of said Town a sum not
exceeding Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars
($250,000.00) and to issue coupon serial bonds therefor,
the proceeds therefrom to be used for the erection, con-
struction and maintenance of a sewerage system, to exact
charges for the use thereof and require connection thereto
and to provide for the payment of such bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of St. Michaels, a municipal
corporation of the State of Maryland, be and it is hereby
authorized and empowered to borrow upon the faith and
credit of said corporation a sum not exceeding Two Hundred
and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000.00) and from time
to time to issue and sell coupon serial bonds in an amount
not exceeding said sum. Said bonds shall be signed by the
President of the Commissioners of said corporation and
countersigned by the Town Clerk and sealed with the seal
of the corporation.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Commission-
ers of St. Michaels shall have authority to prescribe, by
ordinance or resolution, the form and tenor of such bonds,
the rate of interest not exceeding four per cent (4%), the
dates of issuance, the portions of said bonds to be issued
from time to time at specified dates, and the time and place
for the payment of said bonds and interest. Such bonds
