repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 411.
(House Bill 614)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", said new section to be under a new sub-title "Wild
or Vicious Animals", to be known as Section 620A, and to
follow immediately after Section 620 of said Article, pro-
hibiting the display or exhibition of wild or vicious animals
under certain circumstances, and providing penalties
therefor.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be added to Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (193.9 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", said new section to be under a new sub-title
"Wild or Vicious Animals", to follow immediately after
Section 620, and to be known as Section 620A, said new section
to read as follows:
WILD OR VICIOUS ANIMALS.
620A. Any person, who shall keep or permit to be kept on
his premises any wild or vicious animal for display or exhibi-
tion purposes, whether gratuitously, or for a fee, shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be sen-
tenced to confinement in the jail or House of Correction for
not less than three months or more than one year, or be fined
not less than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or more than
One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or both fined and im-
prisoned, provided, however, that this section shall not be
construed to apply to the operation of parks or zoos by muni-
cipal corporations or other political subdivisions of this State,
or to the exhibition of wild or vicious animals at a duly
licensed circus or theatre.
