existing ordinances passed by, the Mayor and City Council
of Mount Rainier, be extended to cover and apply to such
annexed territory, and providing for such annexed territory
to constitute and comprise the Fifth Ward and to be in-
cluded in a Third Precinct for election purposes, and pro-
viding for a referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That there is hereby annexed to the territory of the
Mayor and City Council of Mount Rainier, hereinafter called
the City of Mount Rainier, all the adjacent and contiguous
territory in Prince George's County described as follows:
Beginning at a point where the northern line of Chillum
Road if extended would intersect with the present line of
Mount Rainier on Queen's Chapel Road, thence running along
the northern line of Chillum Road in a nortwesterly direction
to a point directly opposite the northern corner of the
LaSalle College property, a tract of land containing 16.'5 acres,
thence across Chillum Road to meet the said corner and
thence along the northwestern line of the LaSalle College
property to the District of Columbia line, thence along said
District of Columbia Line to the present boundary line of
Mount Rainier at Arundel Road, thence along the boundary
line of Mount Rainier, being Arundel Road, Offut Street and
Queen's Chapel Road to the point of beginning.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That except as herein-
after otherwise provided, all existing laws relating to the
City of Mount Rainier, and all existing ordinances passed by
the Mayor and City Council of Mount Rainier are hereby
extended to hereafter cover and apply to said annexed terri-
tory as fully as if said annexed territory had been a part of
said City of Mount Rainier at the time of passage of such
laws and ordinances.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Board of Coun-
ty Commissioners of Prince George's County shall pay or
cause to be paid annually to the Mayor and City Council of
Mount Eainier, three-fourths of the full amount of the road
and bridge tax or any other tax or taxes levied and
collected each fiscal year from property taxed for such
purposes within the limits of the corporation of the
Mayor and City Council of Mount Rainier as enlarged
by this Act. Any portion of said three-fourths of said
road and bridge tax collected by said County Commis-
sioners after the fiscal year for which the same was levied,
shall be accounted for and paid over to the said The Mayor
