CHAPTER 364.
(House Bill 361)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Montgomery County (1939 Edition), being Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Montgomery County", to be under sub-title "Week", said
new section to be known as Section 1210A, and to follow
immediately after Section 1210 of said Article, authorizing
the establishment of a five-day week in Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the
Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1939
Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Montgomery County", to be under sub-
title "Week", said new section to be known as Section 1210A,
and to follow immediately after Section 1210 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

1210A. The Judges of the Circuit Court of Montgomery
County and the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Montgomery
County are hereby authorized and empowered by appropriate
orders to provide and establish a five-day week for the em-
ployees of said Court, of the Clerk of said Court and of the
Register of Wills for Montgomery County, respectively. The
Board of County Commissioners, the County Treasurer, the
County Board of Education, the Washington Suburban Sani-
tary Commission, the Liquor Control Board, the Board of
Supervisors of Elections, the Supervisor of Assessments and
the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commis-
sion are hereby authorized and empowered by appropriate
order or resolution to provide and establish a five-day week
for the employees of their respective boards and offices. Any
other department, board or commission of the Government of
Montgomery County not included in the above-enumerated
groups shall also have the power by appropriate order or reso-
lution to provide and establish a five-day week for their em-
ployees. All of the above-mentioned officials and boards shall
have the authority and power to provide and determine, in
their discretion, the working hours for their respective em-
ployees.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.
