Councilmen and Clerk of Hurlock", then this Act shall
become immediately effective. If a majority of the votes cast
thereon shall be "Against Increased Compensation of the
Mayor, Councilmen and Clerk of Hurlock", then this Act
shall be null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 357.
(House Bill 342)
AN ACT to add six new sections to Article 2B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1943 Supplement), title "Alco-
holic Beverages", sub-title "County Dispensary", said new
sections to be known as Sections 82 to 84C, inclusive, to
follow immediately after Section 81 of said Article, pro-
viding for the creation of a Liquor Control Board and the
establishment of a County Dispensary System for the sale
in Dorchester County of all alcoholic beverages except
beer, and providing for the submission of this Act to the
voters of said County at the next election for adoption
or rejection.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That six new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1943 Supple-
ment), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "County Dis-
pensary", said new sections to be known as Sections 82 to
84C, inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 81 of said
Article and to read as follows:
82. (a) In Dorchester County, there shall be a Liquor
Control Board to consist of three members, who shall first
be appointed by the Governor for terms of two, three, and
four years; thereafter their successors shall be appointed
by the Governor for terms of four years. The Governor may
appoint a person to fill a vacancy in the Board for the
unexpired portion of the term. The Board shall designate
a chairman and a secretary from among its members.
(b) Each member of the Board shall receive an annual
salary of $600 and the Board shall hold at least one sched-
uled meeting a month.
