advertise for one week in two papers published in said County
for bids to furnish said supplies or equipment; and said bids
shall be opened by the clerk to the Commissioners in the
presence of the said County Commissioners, and the said
County Commissioners shall accept the lowest responsible
bid which shall be considered reasonable by said County
Commissioners, or they may, in their discretion, reject all
bids.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 344.
(House Bill 265)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
19 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Registration", said
Article having been revised by Chapter 934 of the Acts of
1945, relating to a new general registration of voters in
Wicomico County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 19 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title
"Registration", said Article having been revised by Chapter
934 of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

19. (a) The provisions of Sections 12, 13 and 15 to 18,
inclusive, shall not apply to Baltimore City, Montgomery
County and Washington County except as specifically pro-
vided, but a system of permanent registration as hereinafter
provided in Sections 20 to 26, inclusive, of this Article shall
be followed. Any other county in the State may elect to be
governed by said Sections 20 to 26, inclusive, when such
action is recommended by the Board of Election Supervisors
and approved by the County Commissioners thereof, in which
event the Board of Supervisors shall either cause the names
of all persons then registered on the registration books to
be transcribed on the forms or cards provided for the perma-
nent registration of voters as hereinafter provided, or, in the
discretion of said Board, the voters in such county shall
